On May 6, 8, and 9, we visited Po Leung Kuk C. W. Chu College to engage with three vibrant classes over three days. Dr. Wong kicked off the sessions by introducing the fascinating intersection of fashion design and smart textiles, setting the foundation for the students’ creative journeys.

Key Learnings & Activities

  • Introduction: Dr. Wong explained the core concepts of fashion design and the application of smart textiles.

  • Hands-On Circuit Crafting: Students learned to build simple electronic circuits and integrate them into fabric designs.

  • Embroidery: Students embroidered designs incorporating electronic circuits.

  • POF Textile Exploration: The classes explored polymeric optical fibers (POF), discovering how to apply this innovative textile in fashion.


What’s Next?

With the basics mastered, students will begin prototyping their own smart wearable designs. We can’t wait to see their ideas come to life!
